Warrior Of God's Victorious Angels - A New Age
"The Battle is in the Spiritual World" Before going into battle the warrior must prepare for the warfare ahead. This will naturally mean putting on what would be helpful and useful and taking off what would be a hindrance in the fight. The holy warrior of God must examine his life and seek to earnestly remove every weight and the evil that can so easily beset him and desire to put on every piece in the armor of God. Only by continually “putting on” and “putting off” can the warrior hope to stand and hold the ground assigned to him. Men and women go to great lengths to try to protect themselves. However, for all the money spent and effort expended, nothing can guarantee personal safety. The holy warrior of God is not fearful or frantic to try to protect himself from the enemy or evil of the world – he can rest as he puts on the armor supplied to him by his Captain. God has supplied His people with armor to shield them from every attack of the enemy – we must learn to apply it and wear it properly to rest secure from Satan’s attack. My Angels are spiritual beings created by God to serve Him. They are very powerful beings who function as God's messengers. Many times in the Bible they appeared to people and said, "I have come as a messenger from the Lord." Angels are magnificent creatures, Their power is so great that just one angel was able to destroy 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night (see II Kings 19:35). Their presence is so awesome that those who see them have been known to fall unconscious on the ground. The spiritual world, though unseen, is very real. It consists of two diabolically opposed kingdoms with two rulers, two natures, two purposes, and two armies. The enemy of our souls has an army with weapons and tactics devised to destroy the citizens of the kingdom heaven and any effectiveness they may have for that kingdom on the earth. As the holy warrior of God we must study the directives and goals of our Holy Captain and be prepared to stand with him against the attacks of the enemy, Satan. As mortal men standing against the enemy of God, we are easily defeated and overthrown. Satan is a powerful foe – ancient, cunning, and merciless. We have no hope of withstanding him on our own. Fortunately, we are never asked to. In Christ, our enemy is defeated. In Christ, I can stand as an overcomer against every attack of the enemy. I can rest and resist at the same time in Christ Jesus, my source of victorious life. Each believer must learn to rest with the saints in the finished work of Jesus Christ rather than struggle in self-effort and defeat. The enemy attacks the believer where he is most susceptible to outside influence, where he feels the most in control, where he tries the hardest to be focused and independent – in his mind. We are continually bombarded by the enemy’s attempts to affect our thoughts and belief systems by the use of outside stimuli. If the enemy can attack in a time and place where our guard is down – even for a moment – we can become imprisoned in his strongholds of deceit and rendered powerless. Believers must recognize the necessity of taking every thought captive and surrendering it to the obedience of Christ in order to experience the victorious life.
