~Smiles~ This group would be renamed if it were possible for it's title relates only to the original purpose for it when it was created '21st Century (reformed) Goreans Against Slavery' GAS for short...so apologies for that.
I have decided to broaden the scope of the group to allow debate of any other topics although postings on the original subjects are still more than welcome! Members please feel free to post any threads that you feel are worthy of attention...
Furthermore this group now has a sub-group within it called GAGS (a new moral crusade). This stands for 'Group Action Gags Spammers' and is a direct response to the unacceptable level of dubious messages being sent indiscriminately to IMVU users homepages advertising cheap IMVU credits which fail to materialise even though payment is made.....
It would also be great if we could (through this group) lessen the number of pointless and annoying chain-letters that are always circulating on IMVU by educating those responsible....
The primary aim of GAGS is to promote awareness of the spam problem and to protect IMVU users from potential financial loss. The group motto is 'Spam the spammer' and our intention is to actively report fake homepages to IMVU to the extent that they are disabled. As they re-appear with new names they are re-targeted and so the process continues...
A secondary purpose of GAGS is to distribute a general polite warning notice on both new and established IMVU users homepages. Inexperienced users are most at risk and often targeted by the unscrupulous so informing them is a priority....
Anyone wishing to join 'GAGS' via 'Goreans Against Slavery' to either take direct action or just to show support by being a member will be warmly welcomed.
I also wish to mention that we now have a meeting place in the Public Rooms called 'The anti-spammers club' which was kindly set up by group member missRenske.
